In 2012, during Operation Pillar of Defense in Gaza, I felt great sorrow for the deaths of innocent people on both sides.

I have decided to create an image in order to express this feeling.

In 2014, three Israeli teenagers named Eyal Ifrah, Gilad Shaer and Naftali Frenkel were kidnaped and murdered by terrorists. Then, I suddenly realized that many people whom I don't know starting using this image I've created in 2012 as their Facebook profile picture. I assume that the distribution started on Instagram since the image started to appear  square, and in some cases filters were added. Later, people also added text on the image, mostly seeking revenge.

Still in 2014, IDF soldier Oron Shaul was kidnapped and murdered. Following the incident, I realized that people from Hamas have started to share my photo and even added their own edit to it with text saying "you will cry blood over your soldiers, the stupidity of your leaders has brought you down into the hell of Gaza".

 

According to Google, the image's name Is "Oron Shaul" in Arabic.
